Singapore Police Force launches single caller ID - '6000 0999' - to protect public against scams
2 November 2026
The SPF is the first Singapore Government agency to launch single caller ID, to help the public recognise official Police calls and guard against impersonation scams.
SPF’s Single Caller ID – ‘6000 0999’
From 2 November 2026, outgoing calls from the SPF will be made from the single caller ID ‘6000 0999’, followed by an SMS from the ‘gov.sg (opens in new tab)’ SMS Sender ID informing them of how they may contact the SPF if they require further assistance.

The ‘6000 0999’ number is for outgoing calls only and cannot receive incoming calls.
Members of the public who require further assistance after each call can contact the SPF via the SPF Feedback Portal at www.police.gov.sg/feedback (opens in new tab) or the SPF Feedback Hotline at 1800-358-0000.
The ‘6000 0999’ caller ID will only be used by the SPF through phone calls and not through any other messaging application such as WhatsApp or Telegram.

Stay Vigilant Against Scams
The SPF reminds members of the public to remain vigilant against scam calls.
Members of the public should not assume that a caller is a Government official, simply because the caller knows or can cite personal details such as their name, NRIC number or other personal details. They should verify the caller’s identity directly with the Government agency or organisation concerned through its official channels.
Government officials will NEVER do the following over a phone call:
Ask you to transfer or hand over valuables such as money, luxury watches, gold or cryptocurrency;
Ask you to disclose banking login credentials;
Ask you to install mobile applications from unofficial app stores; or
Transfer your call to the Police.
If you are in doubt, call the 24/7 ScamShield Helpline at 1799 to check.
