Set up your phone to block scam calls and SMSes
Protect yourself from scam calls and SMSes by giving ScamShield the required permissions on your mobile device. This allows ScamShield to:
Block numbers marked as scams by the authorities
Filter/detect scam SMSes as identified by ScamShield’s AI
How it works (iOS)

Launch ScamShield. Tap 'Set up' for call blocking or SMS filtering to get started.
Tap on next to proceed.
Follow the step-by-step instructions to enable call blocking permissions, then tap on "I've done this"
After following the setup for call blocking and SMS filtering, you will see that scam call blocking and filtering is active. To check for messages which have been filtered by ScamShield, you can check your Junk Messages. Filtered SMSes will display a 'Filtered by ScamShield' label.

How can I tell if ScamShield is working on my iOS phone?Title for the accordion item
When you receive a scam SMS from an unknown number that is determined to be a scam, ScamShield filters the messages to a junk SMS folder.
You’ll be able to view messages filtered by ScamShield by going into your Junk Messages and seeing the label ‘Filtered by ScamShield’.
By default, messages in the Junk folder are deleted after 30 days.
ScamShield also works in the background silently to block scam calls.
You don’t need to report scam messages that have already been filtered by ScamShield.
How does it work on my iOS phone?
The app filters incoming calls and SMSes from unknown numbers, including overseas numbers. ScamShield uses a combination of an on-device algorithm and information provided by the Singapore Police Force (SPF), such as blacklisted numbers linked to scams, to determine if a call or SMS is a scam.
When you receive an SMS from an unknown number, ScamShield will determine if the SMS is a scam using an on-device algorithm.
For iOS, it filters the messages to a junk SMS folder.

When you receive a scam SMS from an unknown number, you will receive a push notification from ScamShield informing you that it is a scam message.
When ScamShield detects a scam message, you don’t need to report it as ScamShield automatically reports it to the authorities to ensure your safety.
ScamShield also works in the background silently to block scam calls.
